S Town

Brian Reed is who is narrating and investigating the crimes that John describes.

John B. McLemore is a man who lives in a "shittown" in Alabama called Woodstock who emails Brian about the crime going on in Woodstock.

Brian goes to S-town to talk to John more and investigate the murder of Dylan Nichols.

The timing of this podcast is spread throughout a few years. It is more concentrated in the time frames that has the most events or are the most important for the story, but he always tells the listener when it skips years, by saying things like "a few years later...".

Ysreal

Ysreal is a man in Ocoa who is known for being scary and looking scary.

They go there every summer because their mother worked long hours in a factory and couldn't take care of them in the summer.

Yunior always tried to follow Rafa around, and saw him as a cool older brother. Yunior wants to impress Rafa and be like him.
