The columns could not be built on the corners of the buildings because they had to leave space for the St. Peter's Church.
The buildings flaw is that the designers did not take into account the wind and the storms. It is very unstable and the corners are left vulnerable. The building could fall or be blown away.
An undergraduate student study the building found the flaw and shared the information with the architect.
